STRABAG Group at EXPO REAL: Focus on climate-neutral real estate

© STRABAG

This press release has:

Press release Plain text

  • STRABAG Real Estate, ZÜBLIN and STRABAG Property and Facility Services present their range of sustainability services in the real estate life cycle
  • Work On Progress: goal to become climate neutral by 2040 reinforced with new corporate slogan

The 24th EXPO REAL, the international trade fair for real estate and investment, is underway. From 4 to 6 October, ZÜBLIN, STRABAG Real Estate (SRE) and STRABAG Property and Facility Services (STRABAG PFS) will be presenting their full range of services at their shared exhibition stand (C1.110): everything from project initiation, development and planning through construction all the way to facility and property management. The companies also have a second exhibition stand (C1.010) dedicated entirely to the topic of sustainability and the question of how new buildings and existing properties can conserve resources and protect the climate in all phases of their life cycle.

The innovations on display illustrate the high level of consulting, data and technical support that the construction technology group offers its customers from a single source. Moreover, STRABAG is currently investing in around 650 innovation and sustainability projects in order to prepare the design-build-operate process for the future. The corporate group has not only committed itself to becoming climate-neutral along the entire value chain by 2040 but has also set itself the goal of becoming a pioneer in the industry by actively working on the urgently needed change. The new group slogan “Work On Progress” presented at EXPO REAL backs up this focus on sustainability, climate protection, innovation and digitalisation in the group’s corporate communications.

Complex issues brought to the point
The 50 m² special exhibition space run by STRABAG Real Estate, ZÜBLIN and STRABAG Property and Facility Services gives visitors a chance to engage with the following topics through a video game, explanatory films, exhibits and visual aids:

  • Generative design – carbon-neutral buildings designed using artificial intelligence: STRABAG explains how human expertise can be combined with artificial intelligence to design, build and operate properties sustainably with generative design. A video game allows visitors to determine the carbon footprint of real estate in a gamified way by adjusting and changing various factors.
  • Decarbonisation of existing properties:One of the great challenges on the way to climate-neutral real estate is the decarbonisation of existing buildings. Trade fair visitors can find out which competences and tools STRABAG has at its disposal to minimise the carbon footprint of a building.
  • MOLENO and LENO-ADD: The serial and modular hybrid timber building system combines timber and concrete as a load-bearing structure and offers the possibility of constructing buildings with maximally flexible floor plans in a very short construction time. The ready-to-assemble LENO-ADD façade complements the MOLENO building system.
  • ennagy: As a STRABAG Group electric mobility brand, ennagy offers sustainable charging infrastructure and energy solutions from a single source – from design all the way to operation.
  • H3Ö: A variety of measures have helped make the H3Ö project, developed by STRABAG Real Estate in Hannover, the city’s most sustainable office development, with significant CO2 reductions and regenerative energy concepts.
  • Concular: The software start-up, part owned by STRABAG, has set itself the goal of promoting circular construction to support the construction industry on its way to becoming climate neutral. Intelligent data-based material brokerage between demolition and new construction projects is designed to make circular construction easier and more economical.

CareerDay (6 October 2022, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.)
The traditional CareerDay will be held as always on the last day of the EXPO REAL trade fair. The HR teams from STRABAG Real Estate, ZÜBLIN and STRABAG Property and Facility Services will also be present (Stand 12) to inform students and young professionals about the wide range of entry possibilities and career opportunities in the fields of building construction, civil engineering and real estate development and in the property and facility services division of the STRABAG Group.
