Ceremonial inauguration of the new Süderelbe office in Buchholz in der Nordheide.

Press release Plain text

ZÜBLIN’s Subdivision North is expanding its regional presence in Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein with two new attractive branch offices in Buchholz in der Nordheide and in Kiel. Commenting on the expansion, subdivision manager Jens Quade says, “The new locations will allow us to cover Schleswig-Holstein and the economically vibrant region south of the Elbe River even better in the future. We are excited about the growth opportunities this provides for our Subdivision North.”

The Süderelbe site in Buchholz in der Nordheide was officially opened on 29 June 2022 with around 60 guests, including Mayor Jan-Hendrik Röhse and ZÜBLIN subdivision managers Jens Quade and Martin Schaepe. The new branch, which forms part of the ZÜBLIN Lower Saxony and Bremen business units, had already commenced its operations at the beginning of the year. Its area of business covers the districts of Stade, Harburg, Lüneburg and Rotenburg (Wümme) and, as part of the economic region south of the Elbe, offers the ideal starting point for new orders in the region. “We want to take advantage of this order potential, not least by offering attractive employment opportunities to interested skilled workers from both Hamburg and the immediate vicinity,” says office manager Markus Reens. In anticipation of further growth, the new offices already offer sufficient space for additional employees. The expansion has already succeeded in bringing in a new project: a TEAMCONCEPT® agreement has been signed for a regional construction project that is now in the preconstruction phase.

There was also reason to celebrate in Kiel with the official opening of the new offices at Germaniahafen on 28 June 2022. The new facility replaces the previous premises in Bornhöved, which had become too small due to the growing order situation. “We want to show more presence in Schleswig-Holstein and are offering our employees an alternative workplace with a digital network connection to the Hamburg site,” says Tim Steffen, commercial manager of the Turnkey Construction Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein business unit, commenting on the reasons for the move. In the future, teams from ZÜBLIN’s Turnkey Construction Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein and the Civil Engineering and Port Construction units will work together under one roof in Kiel. Additional skilled workers are to be recruited for the location. Current projects include the shipbuilding hall for thyssenkrupp Marine Systems in Kiel, the Schleiterrassen housing project in Kappeln, the renovation of the road tunnel under the Kiel Canal in Rendsburg, port construction projects in Lübeck-Travemünde and Neustadt, and a new laboratory and lecture hall building for the Centre for Networked Sensor Systems (ZEVS) in Kiel.
